AT&T says it will launch MMS for the iPhone on Sept. 25th.

Multimedia messaging - will allow users send photos - in a similar way to text messages.

In a statement on its Web site - AT&T now says MMS will become available on Sept. 25th.

With the iPhone 3.0 operating system, the phones got support for multimedia messaging, which lets users send photos in a similar way to text messages. But while operators in other countries began supporting the service when the OS update was released in June, AT&T said it would wait until late summer.

In a statement on its Web site, AT&T now says MMS will become available on Sept. 25. "We've been working for the past several months to prepare our systems and network to ensure the best possible experience with MMS when it launches," it said.
