Union Budget 2011 for largest democracy in the world has been in progress. Here is the highlights of early speech of Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee.
The FM announced that Direct Tax Code will be implemented from April, 2012. He also announced benefits for Below Poverty Line families by allowing direct transfer of subsidies in kerosene and LPG for such individuals.
Highlights of Union Budget 2011
Proposal to increase rural housing fund to Rs 3000 crore
Actively considering new fertiliser policy for urea
Permit granted to SEBI registered mutual funds to access subscriptions from foreign investments
Rs 3000 crore to NABARD and support to 15000 cooperative society and some handloom weavers
Microfinace equity fund of 100 crores along with SIDBI
FII investment in corporate bonds raised to 40 billion dollars
Direct transfer of fuel cash subsidy to people below poverty
